Pivotal Weather, LLC ("Pivotal Weather," "we," "us," or "our") operates https://www.pivotalweather.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Pivotal Weather, LLC is the controller of the personal information described here.
Information we collect
Information you provide. Account information (name, email address, password), subscription and billing details, support requests and correspondence, and any feedback or content you submit.
Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We receive limited transaction data such as the last four digits, card brand, billing country, and subscription status. Information collected automatically. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device and screen characteristics, referring URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, and internet service provider. This is recorded in server logs and through cookies and similar technologies.
Location information. We do not collect geolocation data. We do not request access to your device's GPS or precise location, and we do not use your information to determine where you are.
You may browse much of the Site without providing personal information, though some features require an account.
How we use information
To operate, maintain, and display the Site and deliver weather products
To create and manage accounts and authenticate users
To process subscriptions, payments, renewals, and refunds
To respond to support requests and communicate about your account (service emails)
To send optional marketing or product emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
To monitor performance, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and secure the Site

Legal bases (EEA/UK users): performance of a contract (accounts, subscriptions), legitimate interests (security, service improvement, basic analytics), consent (advertising and non-essential cookies, marketing email), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. We share information only as follows:
Service providers, acting on our instructions: hosting and CDN, data storage, payment processing, email delivery, error monitoring, and customer support tooling
Advertising partners, including Raptive, as described above. Under some U.S. state laws, this advertising activity may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information
Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you
Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, our users, and the public

Data retention
Account and subscription records: for the life of the account and up to seven years afterward for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes

Your rights and choices
All users. You may access and update your account information in your account settings, unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message, and request deletion of your account by emailing support@pivotalweather.com.
EEA/UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we have collected these categories: identifiers, customer records (name, email, billing details), commercial information (subscriptions and transactions), internet and network activity, and inferences drawn from advertising activity. We do not collect geolocation data and we do not collect sensitive personal information. We disclose identifiers and internet activity to advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To opt out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the Site footer, enable Global Privacy Control, or email support@pivotalweather.com.
Other U.S. states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and others) have comparable rights and may submit requests using the same contact details.
We verify requests by confirming control of the account email, and we respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. For transfers from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How we protect information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption of data in transit using TLS, hashed password storage, access controls limiting employee access to a need-to-know basis, and regular review of our providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@pivotalweather.com and we will delete it.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide prominent notice on the Site and, where legally required, obtain your consent. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
